What This Week’s Funding Activity Says About the Market
The week’s funding activity covered a broad mix of sectors, but several patterns stood out.
AI remained a major funding category. Live2.ai, Simplismart and QwikBuild raised capital for different layers of the AI ecosystem, ranging from social intelligence and commerce to inference infrastructure and enterprise software. Nova Spectral AI and other deeptech companies also attracted capital for hardware and sensing technologies.
Healthcare attracted both large and early-stage cheques. Cent’s $15 million Series A, Clinics On Cloud’s ₹120 crore round, BioStack’s $9.5 million seed round, Docterz’s ₹5 crore raise, Jagruti’s ₹28 crore Series A and Maasi’s ₹6 crore round show that healthcare funding is extending beyond traditional healthtech marketplaces into diagnostics, clinical infrastructure, healthcare data, rehabilitation and childcare.
Consumer brands continued to raise growth capital. Troovy, Rotoris, Ace Blend, ISLAND Beauty, ReplyAll and Qiroko raised funds across food, watches, nutrition, skincare and fashion accessories. The common thread is expansion of existing products and distribution rather than simply launching a new category.
Deeptech and manufacturing also featured prominently. Venttup is investing in precision manufacturing infrastructure, Viridian is moving electric propulsion systems toward pilot production, Coratia is scaling underwater robotics for defence applications, and Nova Spectral AI is developing infrared sensor technology.
Gaming capital is shifting toward new formats. Matiks is combining social gaming with AI-based game creation, while Let’s Game Now is using fresh capital to develop a franchise-based esports league. Both models are different from the real-money gaming businesses that dominated India’s gaming funding narrative before regulatory changes.
