  • Founded in 2024, the startup has previously raised ₹3.5 crore in pre-seed funding from Venture Catalysts.

Bengaluru-based defence technology startup Paar Autonomy has raised ₹10 crore in a funding round led by AdvantEdge Founders.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to increase production of its AI-powered camera systems and develop navigation technology designed to help drones operate when GPS signals are unavailable or disrupted.

Founded in June 2024 by Vignesh Sivaram Jayaraman, Paar Autonomy develops perception hardware and AI software for unmanned aerial, ground and maritime platforms. Its systems are designed to help autonomous machines interpret their surroundings, identify objects and maintain situational awareness in environments where satellite-navigation or communication links may be disrupted.

The latest round follows a ₹3.5 crore pre-seed round led by Venture Catalysts in September 2025. The earlier funding was used to establish Paar Autonomy’s first manufacturing line, deliver pilot units to defence and government customers and expand its engineering and business teams.

Paar Autonomy Builds Perception Systems for Unmanned Platforms

Paar Autonomy is developing technology focused on the perception and autonomy layer of unmanned systems. Its hardware includes multi-sensor, gyro-stabilised camera systems, while its software uses AI to help machines interpret information from their surroundings.

The company’s systems are designed for unmanned aerial, ground and maritime platforms, including drones, rovers and surface vessels. Potential applications span defence and policing as well as industrial inspection and infrastructure-related operations.

A key area of development is navigation in environments where Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) cannot be relied upon. GPS signals can be unavailable, degraded, jammed or spoofed in certain operating environments. Systems designed for GPS-denied navigation can instead combine information from cameras, inertial sensors and onboard computing to estimate movement and position.

Paar Autonomy is developing this capability alongside its perception hardware. The objective is to enable unmanned platforms to continue interpreting their surroundings and navigating when conventional satellite-navigation inputs are disrupted. Actual performance in such environments depends on factors including sensor quality, algorithms, onboard computing and operating conditions.

The company has previously described its technology as combining perception hardware with proprietary AI models. In its 2025 funding announcement, Paar said its multi-sensor gimballed camera systems were being developed alongside agentic AI for unmanned aerial, ground and sea vehicles.

Funding to Scale Manufacturing and GPS-Independent Navigation

The latest ₹10 crore investment comes as Paar Autonomy moves from developing and piloting its hardware towards greater production capacity.

Its previous ₹3.5 crore funding round was earmarked for commissioning its first manufacturing line, delivering pilot units to defence and PSU customers, expanding the engineering and business-development teams, and developing partnerships with defence organisations, PSUs and overseas OEMs.

The new funding will focus on increasing production of its AI-powered camera systems and advancing navigation technology that can operate without continuous dependence on GPS, according to reports.
