About Maasi

Maasi provides families with trained and background-verified caregivers through on-demand bookings and subscription plans. Its offerings include short-term nanny services, part-time and full-time care, live-in care, postpartum support and Maasi Governess, an English-speaking nanny service focused on childcare and screen-free engagement.

The company says caregivers undergo verification and structured training before working with families. Its training programme involves professionals including preschool directors, nurses and former airline cabin crew trainers.

Maasi grew out of Urban Parents Club, a Bengaluru-based parent community that the founders say grew to more than 8,000 families. The founders’ backgrounds also include work in consumer technology and workforce operations. Aashu Manchali previously worked at Xoxoday, while Gargi Pandey and Reshov Roy have backgrounds at companies including MPL and Gameskraft.

The company launched publicly in Bengaluru in October after an invite-only beta. Maasi said its October 20 launch generated a waitlist of more than 4,000 parents within five days. It has also reported serving more than 1,200 parents through a network of over 500 caregivers, with week-on-week growth of 20%. These are company-reported figures.

Maasi’s current service is focused on Bengaluru, where it launched with more than 400 trained caregivers, according to launch reports.

What’s Next for Maasi?

With the new funding, Maasi plans to expand its caregiver network, invest in training and technology, and grow its Bengaluru team. The company is also focused on building the systems required to manage caregiver verification, matching, attendance and communication between families and caregivers.

The startup plans to expand its at-home childcare services as it moves beyond its initial launch and builds its caregiver network. Its model combines recruitment and training of caregivers with technology for bookings and family management.
