RePut.ai: What an Ex-BigBasket Executive Saw in India’s Supply Chains That Nobody Was Fixing
Reput.ai is a full-stack traceability and sustainability intelligence platform designed to make verified, real-time environmental and supply chain data accessible to businesses.

When Anuj Bishnoi was scaling BigBasket Daily, one of India’s largest grocery supply chains, he kept encountering the same challenge. The supply chain was working. Products were moving. Deliveries were reaching customers. But the data underneath it all remained fragmented.
Where materials came from, what the environmental impact looked like, and whether supplier claims were accurate were often difficult to verify.
As Anuj observed:
“You cannot manage what you cannot measure, and you cannot measure what you cannot see.”
That insight, built through thousands of supplier conversations and procurement discussions, became the foundation for RePut.ai.
RePut.ai was not created as another sustainability reporting tool or carbon calculator. It was built as a full-stack traceability and sustainability intelligence platform designed to make verified, real-time environmental and supply chain data accessible to businesses across the value chain, from global enterprises to MSME manufacturers.
Founded by Anuj Bishnoi along with co-founders Rohit Mahatma and Amit B., RePut.ai is building technology at the intersection of two major global shifts: increasing sustainability regulations across international trade and the growing need for affordable, automated tools that help businesses meet these requirements.
The Problem No One Was Solving Affordably
Sustainability requirements across global markets are becoming increasingly complex.
Regulations such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Digital Product Passports, India’s BRSR framework, and Scope 3 emissions reporting are pushing companies to collect deeper and more accurate sustainability data across their supply chains.
However, most businesses still struggle with fragmented sustainability information.
Data is often spread across ERP systems, spreadsheets, supplier records, documents, emails, and manual reporting processes. Businesses spend months collecting sustainability information, preparing ESG reports, and managing compliance requirements, yet the final data is often difficult to verify and audit.
For large enterprises and global conglomerates, this challenge becomes even bigger.
A conglomerate may operate multiple companies across different industries and geographies. Each company often uses different platforms for carbon accounting, ESG reporting, supplier management, certifications, and compliance.
While individual solutions may solve specific problems, they create a fragmented sustainability ecosystem at the group level.
The result is:
- Different systems across different companies
- Lack of standardized sustainability data
- Limited enterprise-wide visibility
- Difficulty in consolidated reporting and decision-making
RePut.ai was built to solve this fragmentation.
One Platform for Global Enterprises and Conglomerates
Large conglomerates today need more than individual sustainability tools. They need a connected platform that can bring together all their companies, suppliers, products, and sustainability operations.
RePut.ai enables enterprises to move from multiple disconnected platforms to one unified sustainability intelligence ecosystem.
Instead of every company within a group managing separate solutions, RePut.ai provides a single platform where organizations can manage:
- Supply chain traceability
- Carbon measurement
- ESG reporting
- Supplier sustainability
- Product transparency
- Compliance requirements
- Circularity initiatives
This creates a common sustainability foundation across the entire enterprise.
With RePut.ai, conglomerates can achieve:
- One platform across all companies
- One standardized sustainability data layer
- One source of verified truth across global operations
Whether a business operates in textiles, manufacturing, food, retail, or exports, RePut.ai helps organizations create consistent sustainability practices across every business unit.
RePut.ai is becoming the one-stop sustainability solution for conglomerates, helping global enterprises manage their complete sustainability journey through one connected platform.
Four Modules. One Platform
RePut.ai’s solution to sustainability fragmentation is a single unified platform built around four interconnected modules.
RePut Tracechain: Creating Trusted Supply Chain Visibility
RePut Tracechain uses blockchain smart contracts to create a tamper-proof record of supply chain activities, from raw material origin through processing, manufacturing, and delivery.
This creates an immutable chain of custody that supports regulatory submissions, buyer audits, and supply chain verification.
Digital Product Passports: Bringing Transparency to Products
Digital Product Passports transform supply chain information into product-level profiles containing verified information about:
- Material origins
- Environmental impact
- Certifications
- Lifecycle information
- End-of-life pathways
As global markets move towards greater product transparency, Digital Product Passports are becoming increasingly important for businesses operating internationally.
RePut Zero Carbon: Simplifying Carbon Management
RePut Zero Carbon helps businesses measure, track, and reduce their carbon footprint through automated carbon accounting.
The platform supports:
- Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions
- Product-level carbon footprints
- Emission reduction opportunities
- CBAM compliance
- BRSR reporting
By automating traditionally manual workflows, RePut.ai helps enterprises make carbon management faster and more reliable.
RePut Circle: Enabling Circular Supply Chains
RePut Circle operates as a B2B circularity marketplace connecting businesses with verified material byproducts, recycled materials, and waste streams.
It enables organizations to track, trade, and reintegrate materials back into production instead of treating them as waste.
Building a Global Partnership Ecosystem
Sustainability transformation requires collaboration between technology providers, industry experts, certification organizations, and supply chain stakeholders.
RePut.ai is strengthening its global ecosystem through strategic partnerships with organizations including:
- BluWin
- CMAI
- Control Union
- Avery Dennison
- TÜV
- TEXPROCIL
These partnerships bring together industry knowledge, sustainability expertise, verification capabilities, and global networks.
Together, RePut.ai and its partners help enterprises build stronger sustainability frameworks by combining: Technology, Traceability, Verification, Industry expertise, and Compliance knowledge.
This ecosystem approach allows RePut.ai to support businesses beyond software adoption and help them create long-term sustainability transformation.
The Technology Underneath
The platform is built on three layers that work together. Blockchain provides the trust foundation, an immutable audit trail across every data point. AI handles the intelligence layer: extracting data from documents, ERPs, PDFs, invoices, utility bills, and even handwritten notes through optical character recognition, validating anomalies, predicting emission factors when data is incomplete, and recommending reduction opportunities. A proprietary sustainability-focused large language model, trained on global ESG frameworks, CBAM, EUDR, BRSR, the GHG Protocol, and industry-specific emission factor datasets, functions as an intelligent assistant across the platform, helping teams generate compliant reports, interpret regulatory requirements, create supplier scorecards, and automate audit narratives.
The entire architecture runs on AWS, built to support enterprise-scale deployments with auto-scaling for millions of product records, IoT device integration, and secure data isolation across clients.
Critically, the platform includes a patented traceability and sustainability engine that standardises how supplier data, emissions, certifications, and product-level attributes are captured and audited, creating uniformity across supply chain tiers that previously reported in entirely different formats.
RePut.ai’s founding vision was more targeted than where the platform sits today.
“We set out to solve a very specific issue — how can a business trust the data coming from its supply chain? Over time, we realised the problem was bigger.”
— Anuj Bishnoi
Sustainability disclosures were becoming mandatory. Buyers demanded supplier-level traceability. Regulators introduced climate reporting standards. Exporters needed Digital Product Passports and low-carbon sourcing validation. The original ledger expanded into a complete sustainability intelligence platform.
The commercial traction has followed that expansion. RePut.ai operates on a SaaS subscription model for platform access, with enterprise tiers for complex supplier integrations, API connectors, and compliance modules. FY25 revenue reached ₹4.9 crore, a figure the company reports as its parent entity Upcycle RePut Tech Private Limited, which was incorporated to build and operate the platform.
The $1 million pre-seed round, closed in January 2025 and led by GrowthCap Ventures alongside strategic angel investors, is being deployed across product development, team expansion, and market entry in export-heavy sectors including textiles, food, and manufacturing, where regulatory pressure from international buyers is most acute and where the gap between what compliance demands and what businesses can currently deliver is widest.
The Market Behind the Urgency
The scale of what is driving demand for platforms like RePut.ai is difficult to overstate. India exported approximately $437 billion in goods in FY24, with textiles, engineering goods, chemicals, and agricultural products among the largest categories, all of which are now subject to either EU regulatory requirements, buyer-imposed sustainability standards, or both. The global ESG data management software market is projected to reach $3.7 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of approximately 18%, according to Grand View Research, driven primarily by tightening regulatory requirements in the EU, US, and UK and the cascading compliance pressure that flows from large brands down through their supplier networks.
India’s own BRSR framework, which requires listed companies to report ESG metrics and increasingly requires supplier-level data, is creating demand for exactly the kind of automated, verifiable data infrastructure RePut.ai has built. The DPDP Act and CERT-In mandates are separately shaping how Indian businesses think about data governance, a broader trend that is accelerating enterprise readiness for platforms that handle sensitive operational data with verifiable security standards.
What Comes Next
Two product launches are on RePut.ai’s near-term roadmap. A Carbon Credit Marketplace will allow brands to discover, verify, and transact carbon credits directly within the platform, integrating offset purchasing into the same workflow as emissions measurement and creating a financial return pathway for companies that reduce their footprint. Digital MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) Systems will automate real-time emissions data capture from suppliers, production units, and factory sensors, generating audit-ready, tamper-proof reports without manual intervention.
Both launches reflect the same founding conviction: that sustainability data should not require a team of consultants and a six-month timeline to produce.
“Our north star remains unchanged — make supply chains more transparent, accountable, and future-ready.”
— Anuj Bishnoi
For a market that has spent years treating sustainability reporting as an expensive, manual, consultant-driven exercise, RePut.ai is making a straightforward but ambitious argument: that it should be automated, affordable, and verifiable instead, and that the regulatory pressure now bearing down on Indian exporters means the window for making that argument has never been more open.
