Nuvah Raises ₹4 Crore Pre-Seed Funding From Amit Jain and Others
The fresh capital will be used for R&D, further development of Nuvah’s proprietary footbed technology and testing different customer-acquisition channels, according to the company.

Comfort-focused footwear startup Nuvah has raised ₹4 crore in a pre-seed angel round backed by CarDekho co-founder Amit Jain, Bombay Shaving Company founder Shantanu Deshpande and GIVA founder Ishendra Agarwal.
Founded by Avni Jain in October 2025, Nuvah is building heels around fit and comfort for Indian women. The company sells directly to consumers across India, with its products starting at around ₹4,000. The startup has recently launched its products publicly after spending several months on product development and testing.
Avni Jain previously worked in venture capital, McKinsey and Goldman Sachs and holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Her professional profile identifies her as a former investor and consultant before she started Nuvah.
The fresh capital will be used for research and development, further development of Nuvah’s proprietary footbed technology and testing different customer-acquisition channels, according to the company.
At the centre of Nuvah’s product proposition is SteadyForm, a footbed that the company describes as responsive to shifting pressure across the foot while walking. According to founder Avni Jain, the footbed went through 24 prototypes and more than 900 hours of wear testing before the product was launched.
Nuvah currently offers different heel styles through its own direct-to-consumer website. The company describes its footwear as made in India using vegan materials, with products positioned around everyday wear, work and social occasions. Its current operations and hiring activity are centred in Mumbai.
The startup is targeting women who wear heels for extended periods and is positioning product engineering and fit as a core differentiator. Nuvah has said it spent around six months researching the reasons behind heel discomfort before developing its first products.
The company plans to expand its product range and introduce a festive collection for Navratri. It also intends to test additional customer-acquisition channels as it builds its D2C business.
Nuvah is also building out its team as it moves into the commercial phase. Current openings include roles in growth and social media, with the company hiring in Mumbai.
Over the next three to five years, Nuvah aims to build a broader lifestyle footwear brand for working women. The company has also set a target of reaching ₹100 crore in annualised revenue run rate and more than 100,000 customers within 24 months. These figures are forward-looking company targets and do not represent its current financial performance.
Nuvah has cited an October 2024 report by IIFL Securities, which estimated India’s per-capita footwear consumption at around 1.9 pairs compared with a global average of about three pairs, and projected branded women’s footwear to grow at roughly 15% annually over the following decade. These figures are being cited by the company as part of its market rationale.
