- Unify Foodworks has set a long-term target of more than 100 stores across India.
Restaurant operator Unify Foodworks has raised ₹5 crore in a seed funding round through compulsorily convertible debentures (CCDs). The round was backed by Atrium Ventures, SailThru Ventures, Arjun Vaidya and Abhishek Goyal.
Unify Foodworks holds the exclusive pan-Indian master franchise rights for Moe’s Casa Mexicana and Carvel, and also holds the master franchise rights for Moe’s Southwest Grill. The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand the brands across the National Capital Region (NCR), where they made their India debut.
The funding will support store expansion, brand-building, supply-chain and logistics infrastructure, and standardised operating processes and training. Unify plans to strengthen store density and consumer recall in NCR before taking the brands to additional Indian markets.
Unify Foodworks Plans 100-Plus Stores Across India
Founded in November 2024 by Sumer Sethi, Unify Foodworks is building an operating platform for international food and beverage brands entering India.
The company plans to use NCR to test store economics, menu localisation and operating processes before expanding into other markets. It is also developing integrated supply-chain and logistics systems along with digital standard operating procedures and training for store teams.
Unify’s long-term target is to operate more than 100 stores across India. The company’s immediate focus, however, remains on expanding the two brands in NCR and establishing a repeatable operating model before entering additional cities.
Moe’s and Carvel Build Their India Presence
Moe’s Casa Mexicana is the international evolution of US fast-casual restaurant chain Moe’s Southwest Grill, with India serving as its first international market. The brand offers burritos, bowls and tacos, along with India-focused options such as Habanero Paneer. Its first Indian outlet opened in Gurugram in December 2025.
Carvel, the American ice cream brand founded in 1934, entered India in 2025 with its first outlet in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Both brands are part of the portfolio of Roark Capital, whose restaurant investments include Subway, Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’.
Unify Foodworks said the new funding will help build the operating infrastructure required to scale the brands beyond NCR. The company is also positioning itself as a platform for international F&B brands seeking to establish a presence in India.
