CarDekho is India’s leading auto-search platform for comparing, buying, and selling new and used vehicles. CarDekho was founded by Amit Jain, CEO, and Anurag Jain, COO.

Amit was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on November 12, 1976. Prashant Jain is his father’s name; he was an RBI officer and a gemstone businessman. He passed away in 2006. Nilima Jain, Amit’s mother, runs the household. Anurag Jain, his younger brother, is his only sibling.

His education continued at the city’s St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, where he studied sciences for the Senior Secondary Examinations. He was admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi after passing the national-level engineering entrance examination.

In 2000, he graduated as an engineer and began working at Trilogy, a software development firm.

When their father became ill, Amit and his brother, Anurag, had to return home frequently. It was fatal, and he died in 2006, having outlived his family and business. Finally, Amit and Anurag returned home in 2007 to settle down and take care of the family business. Because of the family name in the market, they began selling gemstones at that time. However, due to a lack of interest, the two attempted to establish GirnarSoft, a software company. The company grew large enough for them to experiment with the CarDekho software in 2008.

Pihu Jain, the vice president of online marketing at Girnar Software Pvt Ltd, is Amit’s wife. Aayan and Aahil Jain are the couple’s twin sons.

Amit Jain is without a doubt one of those individuals who not only founded his company but also brought enormous prosperity and glory to his name and city. The company’s headquarters are in Jaipur, Rajasthan. GirnarSoft, the parent company, is worth $360 million on the open market.

Aside from Amit and Anurag, a few other people are crucial to the growth of CarDekho. They are as follows:

Umang Kumar
CEO, International Business and Co-founder

Mayank Gupta
Chief Finance Officer

Manish Wadhwa
Chief People Officer

The CarDekho application software employs approximately 2,800 people. The revenue generated by CarDekho was $37.4 million. Previously, the company raised a historic $262.5 million fund. In 2009, the company also launched CollegeDekho, BikeDekho, ShopDekho, PriceDekho, and MobileDekho. With a $1.2 billion valuation, the company secured $250 million in a pre-IPO deal in October 2021. Cardekho was given a unicorn label in 2021 as a result of this.

Amit Jain’s contribution to the Indian startup ecosystem has been recognised. In 2019, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence. In 2014, he was also named to Forbes India’s 40 under 40 list.

Amit Jain is still the CEO of CarDekho and is working to expand the company’s footprint in both the Indian and international markets. CarDekho has grown to become one of India’s most trusted and popular online car marketplaces, with millions of customers and a diverse range of services.
