BlueStone Brings CarDekho CEO Amit Jain on Board as Non-Executive Director

BlueStone Jewellery and Lifestyle has appointed CarDekho Group co-founder and CEO Amit Jain as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director on its board.

The appointment took effect on September 14, 2026, after shareholders approved the resolution at BlueStone’s 15th Annual General Meeting. Jain will be liable to retire by rotation.

Amit Jain replaces Sameer Dileep Nath, who retired by rotation at the AGM and chose not to seek re-appointment. BlueStone’s regulatory filing said Nath had indicated that he did not intend to seek another term.

Amit Jain is the co-founder and CEO of CarDekho Group, which has expanded beyond its core automotive marketplace into fintech, insurtech, mobility and other technology-led businesses. An IIT Delhi alumnus, Jain previously worked at Tata Consultancy Services and Trilogy before co-founding GirnarSoft with his brother Anurag Jain in 2007.

The appointment comes as BlueStone continues to expand its omnichannel jewellery business across India. Founded in 2011, the Bengaluru-based company combines an online platform with a growing network of physical jewellery stores, with expansion increasingly focused on markets beyond the major metros.

During Q1 FY27, BlueStone added 12 stores, taking its retail network to 352 outlets across 139 cities. Five of the new cities entered during the quarter were in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. The company also reported 39% same-store sales growth, reflecting growth across its existing store base.

BlueStone reported operating revenue of around ₹737 crore for the June quarter, representing roughly 49% year-on-year growth, while reported net profit stood at ₹6 crore, compared with a loss of about ₹35 crore in Q1 FY26. The company also reported adjusted PAT of ₹14 crore, compared with an adjusted loss of ₹21 crore a year earlier.

The retailer’s performance comes as it continues to deepen its presence in smaller cities. Its management has identified expansion beyond metropolitan markets as an important part of its growth strategy, while its omnichannel model is designed to support customer discovery online and purchases through its broader retail network.

With Jain joining the board, BlueStone adds an executive with experience in building and scaling technology-led consumer businesses to its boardroom. His appointment follows the company’s latest phase of retail expansion and a quarter in which it reported both strong same-store growth and a return to reported profitability.
