The Func. Lab Raises $1.5 Million in Seed Funding Round

Mumbai-based nutrition startup The Func. Lab has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round from a group of investors, including Nisaba Godrej, Anand Piramal, Abhishek Nayar, Bhakti Modi, Harsh Parekh, and Sahil Vora.

The newly raised capital will be used to expand the company’s product portfolio, strengthen distribution networks, enhance supply chain capabilities, and accelerate its presence across digital commerce, quick-commerce platforms, and offline retail channels.

Founded in 2025 by celebrity fitness trainer Sohrab KhushrushahiSahil Kukreja, and Daneesh Davar, The Func. Lab is a clean-label nutrition startup focused on developing functional wellness products across hydration, protein, and performance nutrition categories.

The company offers products including electrolytes, whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, and plant-based protein solutions. The brand focuses on clean formulations, avoiding ingredients such as gums, emulsifiers, artificial sweeteners, anti-caking agents, and proprietary blends. Its products also undergo independent third-party testing for quality assurance.

Since launching in July 2025, The Func. Lab has built a multi-channel distribution presence spanning its direct-to-consumer platform, ecommerce marketplaces, quick-commerce channels, and offline retail outlets.

With the latest funding, the startup plans to accelerate its expansion in the hydration and sports nutrition categories by broadening its product range, improving availability across markets, and strengthening its position in India’s rapidly growing health and wellness sector.
