Gurugram-based premium grocery platform Solgram has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. Hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra also participated in the round.

The funding comes within a quarter of Solgram’s launch. The company plans to use the capital to expand its cold-chain infrastructure, strengthen its technology stack, deepen sourcing relationships and scale its operations across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Solgram Builds a Cold-Chain-First Grocery Platform

Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram focuses on premium grocery categories including fresh produce, dairy, meat, seafood, bakery and gourmet pantry products. The platform is built around an end-to-end temperature-controlled supply chain covering sourcing, quality checks, storage, fulfilment and last-mile delivery.

Its stores use separate temperature-controlled zones for different product categories, while sealed thermal packaging and dedicated delivery infrastructure are used for the last mile. The platform offers both scheduled, batched deliveries and express delivery.

Solgram also operates Mindful Mode, a health-focused shopping category that curates products based on factors such as cleaner labels, nutritional information and product provenance. Its broader assortment includes both established and emerging food brands.

Founder Shashank Shekhar Sharma brings experience across hospitality, food retail and quick commerce. According to DSG Consumer Partners, he previously worked at The Oberoi Group and Chai Point before joining Zepto, where he built Zepto Cafe, and later led gourmet retail business Foodstories.

Fresh Funding to Drive NCR Expansion

Solgram will use the new capital to invest in cold-chain infrastructure, technology, sourcing and operational expansion. The company is currently operating in Gurugram and plans to expand across the wider NCR before entering other Tier-I cities.

Rather than expanding rapidly across multiple markets, Solgram plans to build operational density within individual clusters and improve consistency before moving into new cities. DSG Consumer Partners has similarly described the company’s approach as building and testing the model in Gurgaon before expanding further.

The company is positioning its model around premium grocery, where maintaining temperature and product quality from sourcing to delivery is a core part of its operations.
