Growth Businesses Expand as Superloads Scales
Revenue from BlackBuck’s growth businesses, including Superloads, Loads Classifieds and vehicle financing, increased 166% year-on-year to ₹73.9 crore from ₹27.8 crore. The segment’s revenue also grew 25% sequentially.
BlackBuck attributed the increase in Superloads to productivity improvements in existing cities and expansion into new markets. The company said AI-driven productivity gains are supporting the managed freight business as it expands its operations.
Its vehicle financing business is also moving towards EBITDA break-even, with growth in assets under management and a relatively stable cost base supporting the business, according to the company.
The increase in revenue came alongside higher expenses. Consolidated total expenses rose 64% year-on-year to ₹210.3 crore from ₹128.3 crore. BlackBuck said investments in customer acquisition across its core businesses and spending on the Superloads business contributed to the increase.
Founded in 2015 by Rajesh Kumar Naidu Yabaji, Chanakya Hridaya and Ramasubramanian Balasubramaniam, BlackBuck operates a digital platform for truck operators and logistics businesses. Its services span toll payments, fuel payments, vehicle tracking, freight discovery, managed transportation and vehicle financing.
Going forward, BlackBuck plans to strengthen its payments and telematics businesses while expanding Superloads, its freight marketplace and vehicle financing operations. The company will also focus on increasing adoption of multiple services among truck operators as it expands its network.
