ZeroDrag raises Rs 6.5 Cr seed funding led by Transition VC

Drone avionics and UAV sub-components startup ZeroDrag has raised Rs 6.5 crore in a seed funding round led by Transition VC.

The company had earlier secured Rs 1.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round from Enrission India Capital and angel investors in 2023.

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen R&D capabilities, expand manufacturing capacity, enhance testing and quality infrastructure, stabilise supply chains, and accelerate the development of next-generation UAV avionics for domestic and international markets.

Founded in 2022 by Amit Nimje and Shantanu Bhede, ZeroDrag develops indigenous drone electronics, communication systems, and autonomy-focused hardware for UAV platforms. The startup builds autopilots, motor controllers, GNSS modules, telemetry systems, communication infrastructure, and payload integration solutions for drone manufacturers and enterprise UAV applications.

Headquartered in Nagpur, the company supplies drone sub-components to OEMs operating across defence, agriculture, logistics, surveillance, and industrial sectors. ZeroDrag follows an OEM-agnostic approach, enabling compatibility across multiple drone platforms and operational use cases.

Over the next 12–24 months, the startup plans to scale manufacturing operations, strengthen its engineering teams, and expand into enterprise-grade UAV hardware solutions for heavy-lift drones and future eVTOL platforms.

ZeroDrag operates in India’s fast-growing drone technology ecosystem and competes with global players such as Holybro, SpeedyBee, and HGLRC in the UAV electronics and avionics segment, while also competing with emerging domestic drone hardware manufacturers.
