WATER Robotics Raises $2.5 Million Seed Round Led by Endiya Partners

WATER Robotics Raises $2.5 Million Seed Round Led by Endiya Partners

Hyderabad-based biophysical intelligence startup WATER Robotics has raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm Endiya Partners.

The round also saw participation from Indian national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, Darwinbox co-founder Rohit Chennamaneni, Swiggy co-founder Nandan Reddy and other angel investors.

According to founder and CEO Teja Vinukollu, most of the fresh capital will be used to strengthen the company’s research and development efforts, while a portion will go towards data collection. The funding will also support technical validation of the company’s technology for adaptive physical surfaces.

Founded in 2024 by Teja Vinukollu and Haneesh Mourya Desu, WATER Robotics is developing what it describes as an intelligence layer for physical surfaces. The company’s approach combines sensing, AI-based decision-making and physical actuation so that surfaces can detect how the human body interacts with them and adjust their behaviour in real time.

At the centre of the platform is VORTEX, which WATER describes as a foundational model designed to sense and understand interactions between the human body and its physical environment. The company is developing applications of the technology across furniture and other physical environments.

One of its main products is CAMA, an autonomous sleep system that was showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. According to the company, CAMA incorporates more than 10,000 embedded sensors and adaptive zones to monitor how a person rests and moves during sleep and adjust the surface accordingly. The system is reported to use 10,752 pressure sensors and 42 actuators.

WATER has also been developing FLOW, an adaptive chair designed around posture, movement and load. The company is using these products as applications for its broader adaptive-surface technology rather than limiting the underlying system to a single category of furniture.

The company has said it intends to extend the underlying technology beyond furniture into other physical environments, including automotive and aviation applications. The immediate focus, however, remains on research, data collection and validating how the technology performs across different use cases.

CAMA is also expected to become commercially available in Fall 2026, according to WATER Robotics’ CES announcement, which invited customers to express interest ahead of the launch.
