Vietnam’s Green SM Enters India With All-Electric Ride-Hailing Service

Vietnam-based electric mobility company Green SM has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of Green SM Limo, an all-electric ride-hailing service.

With its India debut, Green SM aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable urban mobility solutions while competing with established ride-hailing platforms such as Ola and Uber in India’s rapidly growing mobility market.

The service will operate a fleet of VinFast Limo Green vehicles, a seven-seater electric MPV developed specifically for passenger transportation. The vehicles come equipped with passenger-focused amenities such as drinking water and wet tissues, along with safety features including interior and exterior cameras, AI-powered monitoring systems, and emergency assistance buttons for both riders and drivers.

According to the company, all drivers referred to as “Green Drivers” have undergone specialised training in electric vehicle operations, road safety, and customer service standards. The launch is part of Green SM’s “Ride 5 Star” initiative, which focuses on service quality, safety, professionalism, and customer experience.

To encourage early adoption, Green SM is offering a promotional campaign from June 5 to June 11, under which customers booking rides through the Green SM mobile application can avail a 50% discount, capped at ₹250 per ride.

Green SM is backed by Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup and is closely associated with electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast. The company has been rapidly expanding its electric mobility ecosystem across Southeast Asia through EV taxi services and charging infrastructure initiatives.
