Vembu Technologies appoints Sivakumar Thiyagarajan as Senior VP of Engineering and Technology

Vembu Technologies appoints Sivakumar Thiyagarajan as Senior VP of Engineering and Technology

Chennai-based software company Vembu Technologies has appointed engineering veteran Sivakumar Thiyagarajan as its Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technology.

In his new role, Sivakumar Thiyagarajan will oversee engineering and technology strategy across Vembu’s product portfolio as the company expands its presence in India and international markets.

The company said his responsibilities will include strengthening engineering processes, improving product quality and reliability, and driving AI-led innovation across its offerings.

Sivakumar Thiyagarajan brings over two decades of experience spanning enterprise software, telecommunications, real-time communications, embedded systems and computational engineering. He previously spent nearly 10 years at Motorola Mobility in San Diego, where he worked with global engineering and product teams on more than 20 commercial devices, including the Motorola Droid, Droid X, Atrix and CLIQ.

He also worked with Ericsson on base-station network management and has experience in computational geometry and CAD/CAM systems through his work at SDRC and IIT Madras.

Before joining Vembu, Sivakumar Thiyagarajan founded Cuedio Technologies, where he developed a WebRTC-based Remote Assist Services Platform and worked on technologies involving browser-based CAD collaboration and telepathology.

Sivakumar holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from IIT Madras.

Sekar Vembu, Founder and CEO of Vembu Technologies, said Sivakumar’s experience in building and scaling complex technology products would help the company strengthen its engineering foundation and product development capabilities.

The appointment comes as Vembu Technologies continues to invest in engineering leadership and product development while expanding its footprint across global markets.

Vembu Technologies develops infrastructure software for businesses and service providers. Its product portfolio includes BDRShield, a backup, disaster recovery and cyber resilience platform, and XDRShield, an endpoint detection and response solution.
