Vectorial Funding: Raises $3 Million in Seed Round Led by SenseAI Ventures and Smilegate
News Highlights
  • Vectorial has raised $3 million in seed funding, jointly led by SenseAI Ventures and Smilegate.
  • Vectorial will use the funding to expand its behavioural datasets and develop SAPIENS 2.0, while continuing to expand its customer base, including in India.
  • Vectorial says it has modelled more than 2.5 million people globally and conducted more than 30,000 simulations.

AI startup Vectorial has raised $3 million in a seed funding round jointly led by SenseAI Ventures and Smilegate to expand its human behaviour simulation platform for product development, design and marketing teams.

The round also saw participation from Berkeley SkyDeck, Berkeley AI Research Lab, Stanford GSB Fund and Dent Capital, along with angel investors who include product leaders from Meta, Shopify and Mastercard.

Founded by Taranveer Singh, Rahul Garg and Jasmine Kaur, Vectorial is building AI tools that allow companies to simulate how target audiences may respond to software products, digital experiences, marketing campaigns and customer-facing AI applications before they are tested with real users.

Vectorial’s platform is built around SAPIENS, its human behaviour model that uses socio-demographic, psychographic and behavioural traits to create models of target audiences. These simulated audiences can then be used by product, design and marketing teams to evaluate product journeys, campaigns, brand messaging and AI agents across web, mobile and AI-native applications.

The company positions the platform as an additional layer of user research rather than relying only on conventional surveys and interviews. Its objective is to allow teams to test more ideas and scenarios before exposing them to actual users.

Vectorial says it has modelled more than 2.5 million people globally and conducted more than 30,000 simulations. Around 500,000 of the people modelled are in India, according to the company.

Its reported customers include consumer electronics company boAt, healthcare companies GoodRx and Suki AI, Everkind and gaming company Concrete Software. The company says its customers collectively run around 600 simulations a month, which it equates to roughly 40 user studies.

Vectorial also claims that SAPIENS is 30% more accurate than general-purpose large language models at predicting human behaviour and that its simulations have reproduced findings from previous user studies with more than 85% accuracy. These are company-reported performance claims and are not independent industry benchmarks.

The platform’s approach is based on building behaviour models from real-world data rather than relying solely on generic AI-generated personas. Berkeley SkyDeck describes Vectorial as building a representation of a target audience from large-scale real-world opinion data, with SAPIENS at the centre of its simulation platform.

Funding to Expand Behavioural Data and SAPIENS 2.0

Vectorial plans to use the new capital to expand its behavioural datasets through additional data partnerships and develop SAPIENS 2.0. The startup is also looking to expand its presence in India.

Vectorial’s broader objective is to bring simulated audience feedback into the product development process rather than limiting consumer research to specific stages such as pre-launch surveys or user-testing exercises.
