Deeptech interconnect solutions startup Tiea Connectors has raised Rs 77 crore (approximately $9 million) in a Series A funding round led by IvyCap Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Jamwant Ventures, 8X Ventures, and several HNI investors.

The company said the fresh capital will be used to expand manufacturing infrastructure, strengthen R&D and product engineering, enhance automation capabilities, and scale operations across sectors including electric mobility, aerospace, defence, avionics, and industrial systems.

Founded in 2019 by Ajith Sasidharan and Punit Shridhar Joshi, Tiea Connectors develops high-performance connectors, precision contacts, and interconnect solutions for mission-critical applications.

The Bengaluru-based startup focuses on product design, rapid prototyping, miniaturisation, tooling, and precision manufacturing for industries that require highly reliable connectivity systems under extreme operating conditions.

Tiea Connectors is incubated at Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bengaluru) and has previously won the iDEX Challenge under the Ministry of Defence for developing indigenous defence-grade interconnect systems. The startup has been working on reducing India’s reliance on imported high-precision connector technologies used across strategic and industrial sectors.

The company operates in a segment that has traditionally depended heavily on imports, particularly in aerospace, defence electronics, EVs, and industrial automation.
