The latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4 spotlighted Rosha, a New Delhi-based brand renowned for its wireless, rechargeable lighting solutions.

Founded in 2019 by childhood friends Kanwardeep Singh, Gaurav Tikiya, and Shivam Dewan, Rosha showcased its innovative and stylish product lineup designed to blend functionality with aesthetics.

The founders sought an investment of ₹60 lakhs in exchange for 1% equity, valuing the business at ₹60 crores. They emphasized Rosha’s commitment to quality, innovation, and modern design, which immediately caught the sharks’ attention.

The negotiation, however, proved intense. Anupam Mittal initially offered ₹60 lakhs for 3% equity and a 1.5% royalty on sales. Ritesh Agarwal later joined Anupam, increasing the equity stake to 4%. Aman Gupta also proposed ₹60 lakhs for 2% equity with a 1% royalty, further heating up the discussions.

To finalize the deal, Anupam, Aman, and Ritesh collaborated to offer ₹60 lakhs for 10% equity with a 2% royalty. This drew criticism from Namita Thapar, who deemed the terms “exploitative.” In response, Anupam quipped, “Exploitation is when you sit on a tank and don’t give an offer.”

As negotiations continued, Shivam countered with a revised offer, causing Anupam to bow out, stating, “Even if you now offer me equity for free, I don’t want it.”

Ultimately, Ritesh and Aman joined forces to secure the deal, offering ₹60 lakhs for 4% equity and a 1.5% royalty until ₹90 lakhs was recouped, bringing Rosha’s valuation to ₹15 crores.

The founders expressed their excitement over having Aman and Ritesh as their “dream team.”
