Owners ID raises $260K pre-seed funding from Crucifer Investments

Bengaluru-based recovery-tech startup Owners ID has secured $260K in a pre-seed financing round led by Crucifer Investments.

The company said the newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product innovation, strengthen its AI-powered recovery infrastructure, improve its mobile application, scale manufacturing capabilities, and support brand-building initiatives alongside international expansion plans.

Launched in November 2025 by Jesintha Louis, Owners ID is developing a privacy-focused digital identity platform that helps users recover misplaced belongings through QR-enabled smart tags. The startup’s system allows individuals who find a lost item to connect directly with the owner without revealing sensitive personal information such as phone numbers or addresses.

The platform operates through QR-based technology that works with standard smartphone cameras, eliminating the need for batteries, additional hardware, charging systems, or mandatory app downloads for users attempting to return lost items.

Owners ID has built solutions across multiple consumer categories, including luggage, wallets, keys, travel accessories, passports, electronics, vehicles, pet identification tags, and other personal valuables.

The startup is positioning itself within the growing recovery-tech and digital identity segment, where technology is increasingly being used to improve consumer safety and asset traceability. According to market estimates shared by the company, India records nearly 82 million lost-item incidents annually, while global cases surpass 319 million each year.
