Bengaluru-based travel platform Onto has launched its services after raising $1 million in pre-seed funding led by Stargazer Fund and co-led by Singapore-based White Venture Capital.

Founded in June 2026 by former Groww professionals Jagdeep Singh and Shubham Goyal, Onto is building a travel platform that aims to support customers not only while they make a booking but also after the reservation is completed.

The startup will use the fresh capital to scale operations, strengthen its technology infrastructure and develop additional products as it works towards building an AI-led travel platform.

Onto’s first product is Price Drop Refund, a service that monitors hotel prices after a reservation has been made and helps travellers benefit if an eligible booking becomes cheaper.

If the same hotel, room type and travel dates become available at a lower price, Onto can automatically rebook the stay at the lower rate and refund the difference to the traveller’s original payment method. The feature is available for eligible bookings made directly through Onto and can also be used for eligible reservations made through other hotel-booking platforms after users add those bookings to Onto.

The service depends on the lower-priced option meeting the required conditions. Onto says it acts only when the same hotel, room type and dates are available at a lower rate. If the original room is no longer being sold at a lower price or the booking does not meet the eligibility requirements, the existing reservation remains unchanged.

Onto sends updates about price changes and refunds through WhatsApp and app notifications. The company has also integrated with multiple hotel suppliers, allowing users to search and book accommodation across domestic and international destinations.

The model is built around removing the need for travellers to repeatedly check hotel prices after making a reservation. Instead, the platform monitors eligible bookings and acts when a qualifying lower price becomes available.

Onto’s current website says the company earns a commission from hotels on bookings, while its price-drop feature is intended to give customers the benefit of lower rates after booking.

Onto Plans to Expand Beyond Hotel Bookings

The $1 million pre-seed funding will support Onto’s expansion of its operations, technology infrastructure and product development.

The company plans to build additional products beyond hotel bookings as it works towards a more connected travel experience. Its longer-term vision includes bringing different parts of a traveller’s journey into one platform rather than limiting the service to the initial booking transaction.

Onto is also developing AI-powered features designed to understand travellers’ preferences and previous travel behaviour. These capabilities are intended to help the platform recommend relevant travel options and explain why particular recommendations may be suitable for an individual traveller. The company has not disclosed a specific timeline for launching these AI features.

The startup has already launched its hotel-booking service across domestic and international destinations through integrations with multiple hotel suppliers. Its current app also allows users to upload bookings made on other platforms so they can be tracked for eligible price drops.
