Neuromod Aqua, a New Delhi-headquartered startup focused on water infrastructure, has secured an undisclosed amount in pre-seed capital from Porush Jain, the founder of Sportskeeda.

The company will deploy the fresh capital to build out its factory-manufactured platform for decentralised sewage and effluent treatment, establish its dedicated manufacturing facility, and support initial commercial deployments.

Founded in 2026 by Anuj Arora and Anand Dad, Neuromod Aqua is modernizing how wastewater treatment plants are engineered. Rather than relying entirely on traditional, site-specific civil construction projects, the startup is developing modular wastewater treatment systems utilizing established process technologies including MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor), MBR (Membrane Bioreactor), and SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor).

The startup aims to eliminate unpredictable execution and fragmented accountability by replacing the traditional customized approach with standardized, pre-engineered modules that can be centrally manufactured and installed swiftly-shifting deployment timelines from months down to days.

Over the next 12 months, Neuromod plans to complete its core manufacturing facility, execute its initial pilot and commercial deployments across Delhi-NCR, build out a comprehensive service and spare-parts network, and scale its process-engineering capabilities.

The company is targeting enterprise clients across real estate, hospitality, infrastructure, and manufacturing, with a product suite spanning sewage treatment plants (STPs), effluent treatment plants (ETPs), zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) systems, and reverse osmosis (RO) units. Beyond upfront deployments, the startup intends to capture recurring revenue through annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), compliance support, and remote IoT-enabled monitoring.

Neuromod Aqua is entering a market facing a significant treatment-capacity gap. According to CPCB data cited by the company, India generates around 72,368 MLD of sewage, compared with installed treatment capacity of 31,841 MLD and actual treatment of about 20,235 MLD.

The startup plans to eventually expand into water reuse and other treatment applications, as it builds a product-led model for decentralised wastewater infrastructure.
