JiviAI Shuts Down Operations, Founder Ankur Jain Reportedly in Talks to Rejoin BharatPe
Following JiviAI’s closure, reports suggest that Jain is evaluating his next move and is in discussions regarding a possible return to BharatPe.

AI healthcare startup JiviAI has reportedly shut down operations less than two years after entering the generative AI healthcare space, marking the closure of another early-stage venture in India’s rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
Founded in 2024 by former BharatPe Chief Product Officer Ankur Jain, JiviAI was building an AI-powered healthcare platform aimed at providing medical assistance and improving access to healthcare services. The startup had developed proprietary AI models focused on healthcare use cases and had reportedly raised an undisclosed amount of funding in late 2024.
According to industry reports, JiviAI decided to wind down operations amid challenges related to high artificial intelligence infrastructure costs, fundraising difficulties, and unsuccessful acquisition discussions. The company has reportedly communicated the closure to employees as it begins the process of shutting down its operations.
Before launching JiviAI, Ankur Jain served as Chief Product Officer at fintech company BharatPe, where he played a key role in building and scaling the company’s product ecosystem.
Following JiviAI’s closure, reports suggest that Jain is evaluating his next move and is in discussions regarding a possible return to BharatPe after the exit of the fintech company’s Group Chief Product Officer and Chief Marketing Officer Rohan Khara. However, no formal appointment has been announced, and neither Jain nor BharatPe has publicly confirmed the development.
JiviAI startup shutdown highlights some of the challenges faced by early-stage AI startups, where companies are navigating high computing costs, intense competition, and the need for significant capital to build and scale AI-driven products.
