In a recent episode of Shark Tank India Season 4, Goodland Pickleball impressed the sharks with its vision for high-quality pickleball court construction.

Founded in 2024 by Yogesh Chavan and Hemant Chavan, the company specializes in durable courts designed for both professional tournaments and recreational games.

The founders sought ₹80 lakh for 4% equity, valuing the company at ₹13.33 crore.

They highlighted their impressive sales figures, earning ₹1.9 crore in just nine months, ₹1.2 crore from the U.S. and ₹70 lakh from India. Aiming for ₹50 crore in revenue over the next three years, they also offer paddles at ₹2,500, court rentals at ₹600-700, and a membership plan at ₹5,000 per month.

To engage the sharks, Yogesh and Hemant invited them to a friendly pickleball match. Yogesh, paired with Anupam Mittal as Team Mumbai, faced off against Aman Gupta and Hemant as Team Brooklyn. In a lighthearted moment, Team Brooklyn won by three points, prompting Aman to tease Anupam, saying, “Better luck next time, you played badly.”

Despite initial enthusiasm, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, and Ritesh Agarwal backed out due to concerns about scalability. Kunal Bahl also passed, though he praised the brand.

Aman Gupta, however, showed strong interest, offering ₹80 lakh for 5% equity with a 1% royalty until recovery of investment—but with two conditions: Hemant must spend six months in India and the company must launch world-class pickleball clubs within two months.

After negotiations, the final deal closed at ₹80 lakh for 6% equity with a 0.5% royalty, maintaining the company’s ₹13.33 crore valuation.

Goodland Pickleball operates in both Brooklyn, New York, and India. The company focuses on building top-tier pickleball courts, from tournament venues and training centers to recreational facilities, making the sport more accessible and enjoyable worldwide.

India saw a tenfold increase in pickleball courts last year, constructing around 500 new courts. With this funding, Goodland Pickleball plans to expand its footprint in India, tapping into the country’s growing enthusiasm for the sport.
