Flexprice Raises $1.5 Mn Seed Round Led By Shastra VC

Usage-based billing startup Flexprice has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Shastra VC.

The round also saw participation from TDV Partners and People Group founder Anupam Mittal, with existing investor TDV Partners increasing its earlier investment in the company.

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate Flexprice’s expansion across the US and Europe and strengthen its AI-native finance infrastructure stack. The company also plans to expand its offerings beyond billing into areas such as metering, revenue recognition, and financial reporting workflows designed for AI-native and API-first enterprises.

Founded in late 2024 by Manish Choudhary, Nikhil Mishra, and Koshima Satija, Flexprice is building open-source billing and monetization infrastructure tailored for modern SaaS and AI companies. The founders identified growing inefficiencies in traditional subscription billing systems as software businesses increasingly shifted toward usage-based and outcome-driven pricing models.

Manish Choudhary, CEO of Flexprice, brings experience in product management and SaaS operations, while Co-Founder and Tech Lead Nikhil Mishra previously worked on backend architecture and infrastructure systems at WizCommerce. Koshima Satija focuses on product execution and operational scaling as the startup expands globally.

Headquartered in New Delhi with teams across Bengaluru and San Francisco, Flexprice enables enterprises to automate billing across API calls, token consumption, GPU compute hours, and hybrid pricing structures. The company said its infrastructure currently powers usage-based billing for several fast-growing AI companies globally.

According to the startup, revenue grew 6X in the last quarter, while event processing volumes increased 20X over the past year to more than 20 billion events per month. The platform is capable of processing over 100,000 events per second with sub-second latency.

Flexprice’s infrastructure is built using Go, ClickHouse, Kafka, and Temporal, enabling real-time usage ingestion, entitlement management, and pricing automation. The platform supports multiple pricing structures including pay-as-you-go, prepaid credits, seat-based subscriptions, volume tiers, and hybrid enterprise contracts, with outcome-based pricing expected to be added in the future.

The company also offers developer-focused APIs and SDKs for real-time usage tracking, event instrumentation, and quota management. Its platform integrates with payment providers including Stripe, Adyen, and Razorpay, allowing enterprises to deploy billing and metering systems without rebuilding internal infrastructure.

Commenting on the investment, Shastra VC said the rapid rise of AI-native software companies is driving a structural shift from seat-based subscriptions toward usage-based and outcome-oriented pricing models, creating strong demand for programmable billing infrastructure purpose-built for AI businesses.
