FIFTH SENSE, a new-age fragrance brand, has raised ₹6.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by OTP Ventures, with participation from Sadev Ventures, ISV Capital, and angel investors including Rohit Kapoor and Amit Damani.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its product portfolio, strengthen its supply chain and distribution, and invest in content-driven brand building.

Founded by Bharat Gupta and Prateek Gupta, both alumni of IIM Kozhikode, FIFTH SENSE is building a digital-first fragrance brand focused on storytelling and identity-led experiences.

The brand aims to shift the fragrance conversation from ingredients to identity, creating gender-neutral, long-lasting scents designed as an extension of self-expression.

“We are reimagining fragrance discovery through identity-led storytelling, making it more intuitive and relevant for today’s consumer,” said Bharat Gupta, CEO and Co-founder.

The brand claims to work with independent perfumers and uses globally sourced ingredients, with formulations featuring over 25% oil concentration to suit Indian weather conditions.

The startup is entering a growing Indian fragrance market, which remains largely split between mass-market functional products and premium luxury brands.

FIFTH SENSE aims to position itself as a youth-focused, aspirational brand that encourages consumers to experiment with scents based on mood and personality.

“There is a clear opportunity to build a differentiated fragrance brand for young consumers in India. The founders bring strong product thinking and storytelling to the category,” said Kunal Suri, Founder and Managing Partner at OTP Ventures.
