CureMeAbroad Raises $1.1 Million Pre-Seed Funding Led by SteerX Ventures

Pune-based medical tourism platform CureMeAbroad has raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by healthcare-focused venture capital firm SteerX Ventures, with existing investor AIRA also participating.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its accredited hospital network, enter new patient source markets, strengthen its AI-powered technology and expand its operations and technology teams.

The latest round follows a $600,000 pre-seed funding round announced in April 2026, which saw participation from investors including Unacademy co-founder Roman Saini, former Cars24 India CEO Himanshu Ratnoo, EMotorad co-founder Kunal Gupta, Moonshot co-founder Devaiah Bopanna, IAVC founder Vikrant Potnis and AIRA Buildon.

With the latest round, CureMeAbroad has raised $1.7 million in disclosed funding across the two rounds.

Founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad is building a platform for patients seeking healthcare across borders. The platform allows patients to discover and compare hospitals, evaluate healthcare providers against JCI or equivalent national accreditation standards, obtain treatment estimates, book care and receive assistance throughout the treatment journey.

The company’s technology includes an AI-powered cost estimator and clinical matching capabilities designed to help patients evaluate treatment options and identify suitable healthcare providers. During its earlier funding round, CureMeAbroad said it was also developing a multilingual patient intelligence layer for its discovery platform.

CureMeAbroad currently attracts more than 22,500 visitors a month and has built a network of more than 400 accredited hospitals across six countries, according to Global Healthcare Accreditation. The network spans India, Turkey, Thailand, Mexico, Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. The company primarily serves patients from markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

The startup is expanding beyond elective healthcare into non-elective specialties such as orthopaedics and oncology. It is also exploring physical experience centres in selected international markets as it expands its presence among overseas patients.

CureMeAbroad said it currently has an annualised patient treatment booking run rate of $4.8 million and is targeting $100 million in annual treatment bookings by FY2028. These figures refer to the value of treatments booked through the platform and are not the company’s reported revenue.
