Shashvat Nakrani, co-founder of BharatPe, has stepped down from his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking the exit of all original founders from day-to-day operations at the company.
In a LinkedIn post, Nakrani announced that he will transition into a strategic advisor and board role, where he will continue to be involved in key decisions such as fundraising, IPO planning, and long-term strategy.
He also indicated plans to return to entrepreneurship, stating that he wants to explore new ideas while staying connected to BharatPe at a strategic level.
Nakrani co-founded BharatPe at the age of 19. The company has since grown into a major fintech platform serving over 10 million merchants with digital payments, lending, and financial services.
His move follows earlier exits by co-founders Bhavik Koladiya and Ashneer Grover, with the company resolving its disputes with Grover in 2024.
BharatPe, currently valued at around $2.7 billion, is now preparing for a potential IPO by FY27–28. For FY25, the company reported a profit of ₹6 crore on revenue of ₹1,800 crore.
