Atul Auto ties up with Exponent Energy to roll out 15-minute charging EV three-wheelers
Exponent Energy is a Bengaluru-based startup focused on building a full-stack energy ecosystem for electric vehicles.

Rajkot-based Atul Auto has entered into a strategic partnership with Exponent Energy to develop and deploy rapid-charging electric three-wheelers for the commercial mobility segment.
As part of the collaboration, the companies have committed to rolling out at least 15,000 electric passenger three-wheelers powered by Exponent’s technology over the next three years.
Atul Auto is a leading manufacturer of three-wheeled vehicles with a strong domestic footprint across 25 states and a wide distribution network of over 300 outlets. The company has built a legacy in the internal combustion engine (ICE) segment and is now expanding its presence in electric mobility.
Exponent Energy, founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal Jagannath, is a Bengaluru-based startup focused on building a full-stack energy ecosystem for electric vehicles.
The partnership will integrate Exponent Energy’s proprietary charging and battery platform into Atul Auto’s vehicles, enabling full charging from 0 to 100% in approximately 15 minutes. The system combines battery packs, charging infrastructure, and connectors into a unified architecture designed for high-frequency commercial usage.
Exponent’s platform, initially proven in retrofit deployments, will now be embedded into newly manufactured vehicles through this OEM-level integration. The solution is also interoperable with standard public and home charging networks, giving drivers flexibility in choosing charging options.
The startup’s technology claims to deliver up to 3,000 charge cycles along with a warranty coverage of up to 2 lakh kilometres, making it suitable for intensive daily operations in commercial EV use cases.
“With Atul Auto, we are bringing rapid charging, financing access, and proven vehicle platform technology together at scale. Our mission is to make electric the better choice, which means addressing the real barriers to adoption. Atul Auto’s strong manufacturing legacy and deep understanding of the three- wheeler market make them a natural partner as we scale our mobility platform into OEM-integrated vehicles and enable adoption at a much larger scale,” said Arun Vinayak, CEO and Founder of Exponent Energy.
Additionally, Exponent’s EV financing platform is expected to support adoption through financing solutions, embedded insurance, and buyback options, helping reduce upfront costs and improve accessibility for fleet operators and individual drivers.
