Anupam Mittal Advocates Twice-Monthly Salary Payments For Employees
According to the founder, cash flow plays a critical role in maintaining financial stability and dignity for employees.

People Group Founder and CEO Anupam Mittal has called for companies to rethink traditional salary payment cycles, arguing that faster and more frequent salary disbursements can significantly improve employees’ financial well-being.
In a recent social media post, Anupam Mittal said that while organisations often promote benefits such as flexible work policies, free meals, and enhanced leave policies, one of the most important employee benefits continues to be overlooked, timely salary payments.
Sharing practices followed at Shaadi.com, Anupam Mittal revealed that the company moved to disbursing salaries at the end of the current month instead of the following month. He said the decision was driven by practicality rather than employee perks, as delays in salary payments can create financial stress for workers managing rent, EMIs, and other monthly commitments.
According to the founder, cash flow plays a critical role in maintaining financial stability and dignity for employees. He further suggested that companies should consider paying salaries twice a month, on the 15th and 30th, noting that modern payroll automation tools have made such processes easier to implement.
Mittal added that more frequent salary payments could reduce financial stress, lower dependence on short-term debt, improve consumer spending, and potentially contribute positively to economic activity. He described the approach as a win for employees, employers, and the broader economy.
