Workroom Automation raises Rs 6.2 crore in seed round

Workroom Automation, which builds software for connected factory operations, has raised Rs 6.2 crore in a seed round anchored by Equirus InnovateX Fund.

The investment also included backing from Astir Ventures, Venture Catalysts Group, and a set of angel investors such as Bhavik Dholakia, Vishal Shah, Varun Patel, Viraj Lavingia, and Bhavin Sodavadiya.

The company said it will use the fresh capital to accelerate product development, strengthen its core platform, and scale go-to-market efforts. It also plans to advance its AI planning engine, expand automation capabilities, and deepen integrations across ERP, MES, and shopfloor systems.

Founded by Abhinav Atthota and Rohan Agarwal, Workroom Automation is a Hyderabad-based startup building a connected factory platform that serves as an intelligence layer across manufacturing systems. Its platform connects data from ERP, MES, machines, and shopfloor workflows to support real-time decision-making and automated execution.

Its AI-led planning engine translates incoming demand into day-to-day production schedules and can adjust in real time based on factors such as machine downtime, material movement, and changes in workforce availability. Through this, the company is looking to help manufacturers improve plant efficiency, cut execution bottlenecks, and streamline production processes.

Workroom Automation has begun rolling out its platform in factories across industries such as automotive, electronics, industrial equipment, and consumer products. It is now looking to deepen adoption within larger enterprises by expanding deployments across several plants and strengthening its reach among mid-sized and large discrete manufacturers.
