Truth & Hair Raises ₹5.4 Crore Seed Funding Led by IPV

Direct-to-consumer (D2C) hair beauty and styling brand Truth & Hair has raised ₹5.4 crore in a seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).

The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate product innovation, expand its distribution network, and strengthen its position in India’s emerging hair beauty category.

Founded in 2024 by Saumya Alagh and Shailesh Singh, Gurugram-based Truth & Hair is building a specialised hair beauty brand that focuses on styling and cosmetic solutions rather than conventional hair care products such as shampoos and conditioners. Its portfolio includes products such as Root Touch Up Hair Mascara3-in-1 Curly Styler, and Flyaway Wand, designed to address everyday styling needs across straight, wavy, and curly hair types.

The startup aims to create a dedicated hair beauty category by offering products that help consumers tackle common concerns such as grey hair coverage, flyaway management, curl definition, and hair styling with quick, easy-to-use formulations. The company says its products are formulated specifically for Indian consumers and are intended to bridge the gap between traditional hair care and cosmetics.

Truth & Hair gained wider recognition after appearing on Shark Tank India Season 5, where it secured an investment commitment from Mamaearth Co-founder Varun Alagh. The appearance helped the brand increase visibility among consumers and strengthen its position in the rapidly growing premium beauty segment.

Co-founder Saumya Alagh, who previously worked with Honasa Consumer (Mamaearth), brings experience in building consumer brands, while Shailesh Singh has a background in business strategy and entrepreneurship. Their combined expertise is aimed at creating a differentiated brand in India’s evolving beauty and personal care market.

The funding comes as India’s beauty and personal care industry continues to witness strong growth, driven by increasing consumer demand for premium, ingredient-led, and specialised products.
