Pune-based IT services company ThynkTech India has come under scrutiny after abruptly shutting down its operations, reportedly leaving nearly 700 employees uncertain about their jobs and pending payments.

According to multiple employee accounts, the company ceased operations without prior notice, with several workers allegedly finding themselves locked out of office premises and receiving no formal communication from the management regarding the shutdown.

The incident has raised concerns around employee welfare, corporate accountability, and financial transparency, particularly as affected employees seek clarity over unpaid salaries and other dues.

Founded and led by Harshal Thakre, ThynkTech India had reportedly continued hiring employees even as several existing staff members were allegedly facing delays in salary payments. Employees claimed that salaries had remained unpaid for months, while security deposits collected during onboarding were also allegedly not refunded.

Some employees further alleged that salary cheques issued by the company were later dishonoured, creating financial difficulties for workers managing rent, EMIs, and other personal obligations.

As complaints mounted, affected employees approached the police and filed formal grievances accusing the company management of withholding payments and misleading staff regarding the firm’s financial condition. Following preliminary investigations into the allegations, Pune Police reportedly arrested CEO Harshal Thakre on charges including cheating and criminal breach of trust.

The incident has triggered wider discussions across India’s startup and IT ecosystem around responsible management practices, employee safeguards, and the importance of maintaining operational and financial transparency during periods of business stress.
