MediElaj raises pre-seed funding to scale AI-powered healthcare kiosks

Healthcare startup MediElaj has raised approximately $100,000 in a pre-seed funding round from friends and family investors.

In addition to the external funding, the founders have invested nearly $500,000 to build the company’s technology platform, AI-powered healthcare ecosystem, smart diagnostic kiosks, and operational infrastructure.

The fresh capital will be used for product development, kiosk prototyping, healthcare device and sensor integration, cloud infrastructure, software development, pilot deployments, and building a scalable research and operations foundation.

Founded in 2023 by Debjit Patra and Umesh Khatri, MediElaj is developing an AI-powered healthcare platform that combines a mobile application with smart diagnostic kiosks aimed at improving access to preventive healthcare and early diagnosis.

The company is building an integrated healthcare ecosystem that combines AI-assisted health screening, non-invasive diagnostics, digital health records, and conversational healthcare support. Its smart diagnostic kiosks are designed to bring healthcare services closer to Tier II, Tier III, rural, and underserved communities, reducing dependence on urban healthcare infrastructure.

MediElaj said it is now focused on expanding manufacturing capabilities, strengthening AI and cybersecurity infrastructure, and building partnerships to support large-scale deployment across India and international markets.

The startup is operating in India’s growing healthtech and preventive healthcare ecosystem, where AI-powered diagnostics, remote healthcare delivery, and digital health infrastructure are witnessing increased investor and policy interest. The segment has also seen rising adoption of smart kiosks and assisted digital healthcare solutions aimed at improving accessibility in semi-urban and rural regions.
