Instamart Launches Quick LPG Cylinder Delivery in Bengaluru with HP Gas
The service, which went live on July 15, is currently available in Subramanyapura, Bengaluru, as part of a pilot programme.

Quick commerce platform Instamart has partnered with HP Gas, the LPG division of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), to introduce on-demand delivery of portable LPG cylinders in Bengaluru. The company said the initiative makes Instamart the first quick-commerce platform in India to offer LPG cylinder delivery.
As part of the pilot rollout, customers can order either HP Gas’ newly launched HP Navya 10-kg composite LPG cylinder or the 5-kg HP Gas metal cylinder directly through the Instamart app for rapid doorstep delivery.
The service, which went live on July 15, is currently available in Subramanyapura, Bengaluru, as part of a pilot programme. Both cylinders fall under the Free Trade LPG (FTL) category, allowing consumers to purchase them without an existing domestic LPG connection. The offering is aimed at students, bachelors, renters, small households, and customers with temporary or portable cooking requirements.
The HP Navya cylinder features a lightweight composite design that is corrosion-resistant and partially transparent, enabling users to monitor the remaining LPG level without additional gauges. Alongside the 5-kg metal cylinder, it is designed to provide a safer, more portable, and convenient cooking solution for everyday use.
The launch marks another step in the evolution of India’s quick-commerce sector, which has rapidly expanded beyond grocery delivery into categories including medicines, electronics, home essentials, and pet care. By adding LPG cylinders to its platform through an authorised partnership with HP Gas, Instamart is extending rapid delivery to an essential household utility while complying with the operational and safety requirements associated with LPG distribution.
The Bengaluru rollout will serve as a pilot to assess consumer demand before a potential expansion to additional locations. If scaled successfully, the initiative could improve access to portable cooking gas while highlighting how quick-commerce platforms are increasingly evolving beyond retail to offer everyday utility services.
