Greenpanel Industries Limited‘s Managing Director and CEO is Mr. Shobhan Mittal.
He was born in Tinsukhia, Assam, a small village in India’s northeast. He witnessed his father (Shiv Prakash Mittal) working really hard as a child. Shiv Prakash Mittal was always enthusiastic about his work. He spent several school vacations at the industrial units where dad was establishing his firm. This background has affected my work ethic and career thus far. He appreciates all aspects of his job.
He earned an MBA from the University of Westminster in London, UK.
Mr. Mittal has also held a number of civic responsibilities throughout his career. He formerly served as vice chairman of the PHD Chamber of Commerce Uttarakhand Committee and as a member of the New Delhi Managing Committee. He joined the Association of Indian Panel Manufacturers and the United Union’s Advisory Committee on Sustainable Forest Industries (ACSFI) in 2015.
His wife Chitwan Mittal, and their lovely son live on Singapore’s Sentosa Island. Ms. Chitwan Mittal, a relative of the Board of Directors, has been appointed as President-Brand Management (Engineered Panel Division) of Greenply Industries Limited.
Shobhan Mittal began his career with ICICI Bank in 1998 as a Management Trainee. He spent two years with the bank before joining GE Capital as a Senior Financial Analyst in 2000.
He was with Greenply Industries Limited as a Senior Manager – Business Development in 2001. He rose through the ranks to become the Managing Director of Greenply Industries Limited in 2017. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the company’s expansion.
Greenply Industries Limited demerged its MDF (medium-density fiberboard) division in 2018 to establish Greenpanel Industries Limited. Shobhan Mittal was chosen as the new company’s Managing Director and CEO. Greenpanel has grown to become one of India’s major makers of wood-based panel products under his guidance.

Greenpanel has grown its manufacturing capacity and acquired new companies under Shobhan Mittal’s leadership to boost its market position. To expand its product offering, the firm purchased M/s Khemka Plyland, a manufacturer of decorative veneers and plywood, in 2019. To expand its global footprint, the firm purchased M/s Decolan SA, a Polish manufacturer of high-quality laminates, in 2020.
Overall, Shobhan Mittal has contributed significantly to Greenpanel Industries Limited’s growth and prosperity. His strategic vision and leadership have aided the company’s rise to prominence in India’s wood-based panel goods industry.
