India’s audio devices market is witnessing a revolution, led primarily by Gen Z. With a staggering 61% year-on-year growth in the Personal Audio segment, the appetite for high-quality sound gear has skyrocketed.

Among the brands rising to meet this demand, Sonic Lamb stands out with its groundbreaking approach to audio innovation.

Founded by two passionate engineers, Navajith and Jagath, Sonic Lamb redefines what it means to experience sound. Their mission wasn’t just to create headphones that deliver exceptional sound quality; they wanted to craft an experience—a deep, immersive, and life-like connection to music that could be truly felt. They call it an “eargasmic experience.”

From humble beginnings as a weekend project to securing patents and gaining global recognition, Sonic Lamb delivering products that resonate with the evolving preferences of a new generation. But how did this brand come to life? Let’s dive into their story.

The Origins of Sonic Lamb

For Navajith, the spark came from an early exposure to his father’s high-quality Japanese home theater system, which left an indelible mark on his love for sound. At just 12 years old, receiving an Electronics Learning Lab fueled his curiosity for tinkering and creating.

His journey crossed paths with Jagath during their mechanical engineering studies at Sahyadri College of Engineering, Mangalore. Their shared love for music and technology led them to collaborate on innovative projects through their college’s “Dreamers” program.

Disappointed with the lack of headphones that delivered immersive, life-like audio, the duo decided to create something uniquely Indian. A breakthrough came in 2019 when they experimented with combining air and bone conduction, leading to the first prototype of Sonic Lamb headphones.

Crafting the “Eargasmic” Experience

The duo spent the next three years refining their technology, going through 15 prototypes and securing patents. The result was Sonic Lamb headphones, powered by Hybrid Driver Acoustics, a unique combination of air and bone-body conduction that delivers sound you can hear and feel.

These headphones bring a full-range audio experience akin to both a high-quality driver and a subwoofer system.

Whether you’re into soothing classical tracks, vibrant Bollywood numbers, or bass-heavy beats, Sonic Lamb delivers unparalleled sound precision.

Features like Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, noise cancellation, microphones for clear calls, and 42-hour battery life make these headphones not only immersive but practical for everyday use. Crafted with eco-friendly materials, their lightweight and durable design includes adjustable headbands and replaceable pads for extended comfort.

Making Waves Globally

Sonic Lamb’s innovation has caught international attention. It was the only non-European startup chosen for the prestigious SoundTech Accelerator Program by Sound Hub Denmark, co-founded by Bang & Olufsen and Harman Lifestyle. This global recognition cemented their position as a leader in audio innovation.

With industry veterans like Rakesh Pandey (Bose) and Kiran Mani (Google APAC) on their advisory board, Sonic Lamb has won numerous accolades, including the ‘Best Young Innovations Award’ (2015) and the ‘Gold Award’ (2018).

In 2022, the brand was recognized among Karnataka’s top 100 startups and named one of India’s top 75 promising startups under the Nidhi Prayas program by the Department of Science and Technology.

Redefining Sound in India

Today, Sonic Lamb is more than a brand—it’s a movement to make music truly alive.

The brand has raised $536K across five funding rounds and currently has a post-money valuation of $2.5 million as per Tracxn.

For the founders, sound isn’t just meant to be heard—it’s meant to be felt.

Sonic Lamb doesn’t just build headphones; they craft emotional connections, giving users an eargasmic experience unlike anything else.
