Physics Wallah, an edtech firm, has recently launched 50 offline centers under the brand name “Vidyapeeth Centers” with an investment of approximately INR 82 crore. Furthermore, for the upcoming academic year, the company has plans to offer scholarships worth around INR 160 crore.

According to PW co-founder Prateek Maheshwari, students will have support for over 15 hours a day at Vidyapeeth centers, and they can also use the PW app to escalate any issue to the head office.

Vidyapeeth is a tech-integrated offline classroom that includes 650 smart classrooms. Currently, the edtech unicorn is operating 11 Vidyapeeth centers in different cities throughout the country.

According to Alakh Pandey, the founder of PW, Vidyapeeth is now offering top-notch education to students in rural areas of the country, allowing them to complete their studies in their hometowns. He further added that their aim is to assist parents in saving money that would have otherwise been spent on hostel fees and other living expenses, which are generally twice as much as academic fees.

At Vidyapeeth centers, students will have access to daily practice problems, video quizzes, and homework monitoring through the parent-student dashboard. Furthermore, PW will upload all lectures to its app after every class.

As per the statement released by the company, it provided scholarships worth USD 12 million (approximately INR 98 crore) to meritorious students and those who couldn’t afford high-quality offline education for the academic year 2023-2024 through the PW Scholarship and Admission Test (SAT). PW has plans to award even more scholarships totaling USD 20 million (about INR 160 crore) for the upcoming school year.

Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, popular YouTube teachers, are the driving force behind Physics Wallah, an edtech unicorn. Despite facing various internal and market challenges, it is worth mentioning that PW has managed to strengthen its position in the Indian edtech ecosystem, which has seen a significant downturn lately.
